The Role The Principal leads the academy's mission, inspiring and managing both instructional and non-instructional staff while fostering a supportive and equitable learning environment. This role is key to connecting with the community, overseeing academy operations, ensuring compliance, and driving student success through engagement and innovative leadership. Key Responsibilities Student Enrollment & Engagement: Lead recruitment and enrollment initiatives to bring new students into the academy. Facilitate student orientation to foster a welcoming start. Oversee regular data reviews and collaborative staff meetings to support student engagement. Retention & Student Support: Train and guide staff in retention strategies to ensure consistent student participation. Cultivate a positive school culture aligned with Acceleration Academies' vision. Utilize technology and learning platforms to monitor and support student progress, adapting as necessary. Academic Leadership: Ensure all local, state, and federal compliance requirements are met, especially for Exceptional Student Education (ESE) and English Language Learner (ELL) programs. Lead data-driven instructional decision-making processes. Manage student graduation documentation, course completions, and academic tracking. Oversee non-academic workshops to holistically support students' growth. Advocacy & Community Relations: Serve as the academy's main liaison with school districts and local community organizations. Build and maintain positive relationships among staff, students, and families. Collaborate with external services to mitigate non-academic barriers (health, social services, etc.). Support staff development through consistent feedback, coaching, and scheduling. What We're Looking For Education: Bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred, in Education or a related field. Experience: 7+ years in education or youth engagement, including 3+ years of leadership. Preferred: Florida Educational Leadership certification and experience in a secondary administration role. Skills: Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. Proficiency with educational technology and data analysis. Passion: A deep commitment to supporting students' academic and personal breakthroughs. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in non-traditional or at-risk youth settings. Certification: Educational Leadership endorsement in the state of Florida Background in alternative educational methods, such as project-based learning and competency-based models.
