Swoon is partnering with a globally recognized industrial manufacturer to hire a Junior Data Analyst for an exciting 18-month contract opportunity. This full-time, on-site position in Rapid City, SD offers hands-on experience in a high-impact, fast-paced environment.

As a Junior Data Analyst, you’ll play a key role in supporting the organization’s substance compliance initiatives—diving deep into data related to machines and components, compiling reports, and helping drive sustainability efforts. You’ll work alongside experienced professionals, gain exposure to cross-functional enterprise teams, and sharpen your skills in Excel, Power BI, and other key analytics tools.

Here are the details:

Location: Rapid City, SD - 5x per week in office

Pay Rate: $18-20/hr W2, open to C2C, Self-Corporation candidates as well

Contract Length: 18m, potential to extend/convert based on performance

Reason for Opening: Additional help. Someone in this role was remote and this needs to be onsite 5x per week.

• Product and substance compliance

Day-to-Day:

• Mix of data analyst/engineering role
• Mining through data related through machines and components
• Compiling reports with Excel, Power BI, Word, etc.
• TEAMS calls and meetings with the enterprise
• Paired up with someone for training
• Expectations:
• Given parameters of reports they need and due dates
• Measured on these are assignments and due dates, can you complete them on time or not?
• Participate in receiving and tracking of the company’s substance compliance customer requests
• Conduct substance analysis process using the company’s material specifications (1E material specifications)
• Assist in maintenance of metrics on Chemical Management customer requests

Looking for:

• Excel experience
• Previous data analytic experience
• Understanding how to read a blueprint (nice to have, not required)
• 2-4 years of experience
• At least associate required, bachelor's preferred

Top 3 Skills:

• MS Office Suite - Excel, Word, etc.
• At least an associate degree
• Data analytics experience

Nice-to-haves:

• Logical and physical data modeling
• Mechanical print reading
• Automotive/construction industry, but willing to consider other industries
• Power BI is NTH

Soft Skills:

• Good at multitasking - working on more than 1 project at a time
• Problem-solving
• Verbal and written communication

Interview process:

• 1 round only
• MS TEAMS
