HVAC Apprentice Travel Required

Creature is an integrated design-build firm based in Birmingham, AL. Our focus is on developing a differentiated delivery platform that improves the lives of our employees and customers. We are focused on the delivery of facilities utilizing the Design, Manufacture, Construct (DMC) methodology. DMC replaces the century-old, siloed approach of the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction Industry. A major component of our platform is our in-house Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing trades.

Job Description:

Creature is looking for HVAC Apprentices who are eager to develop their skills and build a long-term career in the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning trade. The ideal candidate for this role is a hardworking, motivated individual who takes pride in their work, enjoys learning new skills, and is committed to excellence. As an HVAC Apprentice, you will work alongside experienced HVAC technicians to gain hands-on experience while assisting with installations, maintenance, and repairs on a variety of commercial projects.

This is a traveling role , requiring frequent travel to job sites across different locations. Per diem payments and travel accommodations will be provided.

Role Expectations:

• Develop a strong foundation in HVAC systems, components, and installation techniques
• Work closely with experienced HVAC team members to learn best practices and industry standards
• Follow Creature's systems and processes to ensure high-quality work and safety compliance
• Assist in the installation, troubleshooting, and repair of heating, cooling, and ventilation systems under supervision
• Travel regularly to various job sites as needed, often working in different cities or states
• Participate in training programs and actively seek opportunities to expand knowledge and skills
• Maintain a clean and organized worksite, ensuring all tools and materials are properly handled
• Demonstrate a strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to take on new challenges
• Communicate effectively with team members, project managers, and supervisors

Qualifications:

• Strong interest in learning the HVAC trade and a desire to advance within the industry
• Ability to follow instructions, work as part of a team, and adapt to a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to go through additional training and certification programs as required
• Basic understanding of hand tools and construction techniques is a plus
• Physically capable of performing manual labor, including lifting, carrying, and working in various environments
• Comfortable with extensive travel and working away from home for extended periods
• A positive attitude, problem-solving mindset, and commitment to professional growth
• Reliable transportation and a valid drivers license to travel to job sites as needed
