Job Description

Our distribution client in Centerville, Indiana is looking for an HR Assistant to join their growing company. This is a full-time position, onsite and long-term.

Day-to-Day Duties:

• Support HR team while working in a distribution environment
• Address employee inquiries related to payroll, policies, and other HR matters.
• Assist with new hire processes, including background checks, drug tests, and orientation.
• Develop job descriptions and actively participate in recruiting and filtering job applicants.
• Participate in disciplinary meetings, investigations, terminations, and other employee relations activities.
• Contribute to policy creation and ensure knowledge around short-term disability, compensation, FMLA, medical leave, and other HR policies.

Must-Have Qualifications:

• 1-3 years of HR Generalist experience.
• Knowledge of HR best practices, including job postings, short-term disability policies, policy creation, benefits administration, and state and local laws.
• Proficient in MS suite and exposure to payroll software
• Experience working in industries like manufacturing, construction, or with an hourly workforce.

Salary is $55K-$60K, with bonus program, generous benefits, 401k, PTO and paid sick time
