Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service. Replenishes merchandise, ensures cleanliness and safety in the department, answers customer questions, and runs register. Responsibilities include greeting customers, assisting with product location and handling, answering telephone inquiries, maintaining cleanliness, watering and pruning plants, receiving and unloading products, operating cash register, redeeming coupons, stocking and facing merchandise, maintaining department appearance, and adhering to company policies. Requires ability to perform medium physical work, follow instructions, and provide customer service. No education requirement; six months or less of related work experience preferred. Work environment includes exposure to equipment hazards, dirt, noise, temperature extremes, and chemicals. Equipment used includes cash register, phone, garden tools, box cutter, broom, mop, forklift, and calculator. Hourly wage range is $11.13 to $14.00 depending on experience.
