Credentialing Specialist I

Location: Remote (U.S. - CST Hours)

Pay: $18-$20/hour, based on experience

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM CST

Deans Professional Services is seeking a highly detail-oriented Credentialing Specialist I to join our credentialing team. This is a remote position with a consistent schedule, ideal for candidates who excel in independent, task-driven work environments.

Position Overview

The Credentialing Specialist I is responsible for supporting provider credentialing and enrollment processes, ensuring all data is accurate and compliant with NCQA standards. This role involves managing credentialing files, updating provider statuses, and coordinating data within the provider management system.

Key Responsibilities

Create and maintain credentialing files in accordance with NCQA standards

Enroll participating and non-participating providers in the provider data system

Update provider statuses using claims payment information

Research and respond to data update requests within the system

Perform initial credentialing and re-credentialing tasks

Follow up with providers regarding missing information

Assign and track credentialing file inventory using spreadsheets

Communicate via email with team leads and managers-no phone work required

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Strong data entry and problem-solving skills

Preferred Skills:

Effective written communication

Critical thinking and attention to detail
